Mood Cycle App
This app prototype’s purpose is to effectively monitore and manage mood fluctuations in individuals by taking into account their menstrual cycle phases. Many individuals experience changes in mood and emotions throughout their menstrual cycle, which can have an impact on their daily lives and relationships. However, there is a lack of user-friendly tools that help individuals understand and manage these fluctuations based on their unique menstrual cycle. MoodCycle will provide users with personalized mood tracking and insights, offering guidance on how to cope with mood changes during different menstrual phases.

Process
Research & Analysis: I started by surveying 20 users to understand their needs and preferences, and conducted a SWOT analysis of competitor apps like Flo to identify gaps in the market. This was complemented by user interviews and industry trend analysis.
Persona Development: With these insights, I created 3 user personas to better empathize with user needs and ensure a user-centered design approach.
Design & Prototyping: I developed low-fidelity wireframes and mid-fidelity prototypes to explore design concepts. These were then refined into high-fidelity prototypes. I tested these prototypes with 5 users, who provided valuable feedback on usability issues.
Usability Testing: After making necessary adjustments based on the initial feedback, I conducted a final round of usability testing with 3 users. This final test confirmed that the refinements led to a smoother and more intuitive user experience.
“I think it would generally benefit all women by helping us understand why we do certain things and think the way we do. Understanding this could help us live a better and more fulfilling life.”
